16-bit SAR ADC with high-speed sampling

Our portable power analyzers feature high-speed (HS) SIRIUS amplifiers equipped with 16-bit SAR ADCs. They offer a high 1 MHz bandwidth and acquisition rates of up to 1 MS/s per channel. These amplifiers are ideal for recording fast transients and applications that require a high sampling rate, such as power analysis.

Amplifiers for direct high-voltage (HV) inputs are available, as well as LV amplifiers for direct current sensor connections. Additionally, all power analyzers can be configured with other available amplifiers for strain gauge, IEPE, and charge signal conditioning, making our portable power analyzers truly multi-functional devices.

Channel-to-channel galvanic isolation

SIRIUS DAQ devices offer high galvanic channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground isolation (±1000 V). The DAQ systems even offer isolated sensor excitation.

With such isolation, we have no problem measuring high voltage potentials and no problem with common-mode voltages. We are also safe with measurements like vibrations, temperatures, or any other measurement where non-isolated sensors are placed next to the high voltage potential against the DAQ system ground. In such cases, a non-isolated DAQ system would burn or at least give faulty wrong results. With SIRIUS it is just one thing less to worry about.

Digital isolation has another big advantage - preserving the frequency bandwidth of the amplifiers. SIRIUS provides "worry-free" measurements, less noise, no ground loops, and the best possible signal quality.

For less demanding measurement and lower-cost applications, SIRIUS DAQs are also available in a differential version where only power supply isolation is offered.

SuperCounters®: precise speed and angle measurement with counter and encoder sensors

Dewesoft data acquisition systems utilize a patented and registered trademark technology called SuperCounter®.

Counter inputs can measure the RPM and angle of rotating machines. In comparison to standard counters, which only output integer numbers one sample later (e.g. 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4), the Dewesoft SuperCounter inputs are able to extract accurate values like 1.37, 1.87, 2.37, etc. fully synchronized for time and amplitude.

This is done by measuring the exact time of the rising edge of the signal with an additional counter. Our SuperCounter inputs work on a 102.4 MHz time base, independent of the current analog sampling rate.

Counter inputs are fully synchronized with analog, CAN bus, and other data sources to enable easy applications like balancing, order tracking, and torsional vibrations.

Bright and high-resolution display

Our portable power analyzers have integrated high-resolution, high-brightness multi-touch WXGA display. The display provides enough resolution for all your visuals and enough visibility even in the harshest environments. The high-quality display allows wide viewing angles.

The displays sizes differ between different power analyzer models:

  • SIRIUS® R1DB and R2DB: Multi touch TFT 12.1'' with WXGA, 1280 x 800 pixels @ 60Hz

  • SIRIUS® R8DB: Multi touch TFT 17'' with Full-HD resolution

Included award-winning DewesoftX data acquisition software is optimized for touch-friendly operation. All DewesoftX visual controls and graphs are optimized and offer easy multi-touch gesture-based control.

Battery powered with built-in Li-ion batteries

Our portable power analyzers have built-in Li-Ion batteries, enabling full autonomy without any external power supply. This feature makes the systems truly portable and autonomous.

The batteries are hot-swappable, allowing you to exchange them during measurements without shutting down the system or interrupting your test.

When connected to an external AC power supply, the batteries will automatically charge, and power will be drawn from the connected AC source (included in the box).

Battery capacity:

  • SIRIUS® R1DB: 144 Wh (2 Li-Ion cells with 72 Wh)

  • SIRIUS® R2DB: 190 Wh (2 Li-Ion cells with 95 Wh)

  • SIRIUS® R8DB:  360 Wh (4 Li-Ion cells with 90 Wh)

Integrated GNSS positioning with RTK correction

The SBOX computer integrated into our portable power analyzer can be equipped with a 10 Hz or 100 Hz GNSS receiver for precise position measurement applications. These GNSS receivers also support RTK (Real-Time Kinematics) correction.

The GNSS receiver option adds position and velocity measurement capabilities to your portable power analyzer, enabling position-based test and measurement applications. The RTK correction option enhances positioning accuracy to within 1 cm.

A power analyzer equipped with GNSS capability is an ideal instrument for on-the-road measurements of all types of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Raw Data Storage

Dewesoft power analyzers are designed to store raw data, capturing every detail of your measurements. This capability allows for post-processing recalculations and offline analysis, providing flexibility to revisit and reanalyze data as needed.

Storing raw data ensures that you can apply different calculations or corrections without repeating the measurement process, which is essential for complex analyses and long-term projects.

To manage storage demands, Dewesoft power analyzers feature datafile compression. This technology reduces file sizes significantly, making it easier to store large amounts of data without compromising quality.

In summary, Dewesoft power analyzers offer comprehensive raw data capture and advanced storage solutions, ensuring efficient data management and versatile post-processing capabilities for thorough and accurate power analysis.
