The Dewesoft X-line represents the next generation of smart data acquisition systems. More than just high-performance DAQ hardware, X-line devices combine precision measurements with powerful embedded processing, enabling real-time data acquisition, signal processing, and intelligent decision-making directly on the device.

Powered by an embedded multicore ARM processor, X-line instruments can perform real-time mathematical calculations, filtering, triggering, and other signal processing tasks directly on the hardware, without relying on an external PC. This opens new possibilities for standalone measurements, edge computing, machine monitoring, test automation, and other applications that require fast, reliable processing close to the measurement source.

Designed around high-speed Ethernet connectivity and PTP synchronization, the X-line platform also simplifies system deployment while providing exceptional scalability, synchronization, and measurement performance.

Key Features of the X-line

• Powerful Embedded Processing: The embedded multicore ARM processor enables real-time math and signal processing directly on the device. Process measurement data at the edge, reduce the amount of data that needs to be transferred, react to events in real time, and perform measurement tasks without relying on an external PC.

• Simple Ethernet Connectivity and PTP Synchronization: Connect X-line devices using standard Ethernet infrastructure for fast and straightforward system integration. IEEE 1588 PTP provides precise time synchronization across devices, making it easy to build distributed measurement systems with fewer cables and simpler installation.

• High-Speed Data Acquisition: Capture fast and dynamic signals with high sampling rates while maintaining excellent signal quality and measurement accuracy. The X-line platform covers everything from general-purpose and distributed measurements to demanding high-speed applications.

• Standalone and Distributed Operation: Use X-line instruments as intelligent standalone measurement devices or combine multiple units into large, distributed measurement networks. Ethernet connectivity and precise PTP synchronization make it possible to place measurement hardware close to the sensors while keeping all acquired data accurately synchronized.

• Open Integration with openDAQ: X-line devices support the openDAQ SDK, making it easy to integrate Dewesoft hardware into your own software or third-party applications. High-end signal conditioning

IOLITE® X devices offer exceptional signal conditioning capabilities, accommodating various input and output modules. These modules are capable of measuring a diverse range of signals, including:

Multi-channel amplifier cards offer data in 24-bit resolution, are alias-free, and have a high dynamic range and low SNR. Sampling rates are software selectable per each input channel and offer acquisition speeds up to 500 kS/s. 

The combination of Dewesoft's high-quality data acquisition hardware and software ensures that data collection is seamless and precise, without missing a single sample. Robust data visualization and signal processing features are available through the included DewesoftX data acquisition software.

Simple connectivity

The system features three key components that work together to ensure easy connectivity and efficient operation:

1. A dual Gigabit LAN interface offers increased bandwidth and supports a higher number of channels for enhanced data transfer capabilities.

2. Precision Time Protocol version 2 (PTPv2) synchronization between devices ensures accurate timing across all connected equipment.

3. Active Power over Ethernet (PoE) provides a standardized power supply, allowing devices to be easily linked in a daisy chain.

Together, these features allow for a simplified setup where only one cable is needed for data transfer, power supply, and synchronization.

Perfect for industrial and production applications with DIN-rail fitting

The IOLITE X modules are designed with compatibility and ease of installation in mind, fitting perfectly onto standard industrial DIN rails. This compatibility makes them ideal for integration into industrial cabinets, where they can be mounted alongside PLCs and similar devices with ease. The IOLITE X chassis features a simple clip-in mechanism, ensuring secure mounting to all standard industrial DIN rail mounts without hassle.

Connection of these modules is straightforward, thanks to the use of RJ45 connectors. This choice allows for easy linking of modules while also keeping costs down by utilizing standard, affordable Ethernet cables.

Despite its cost-effective design, the IOLITE X series does not cut corners on signal conditioning quality. All signal amplifiers within the series are engineered to provide top-tier signal conditioning, boasting a 24-bit resolution and a high sampling rate of up to 500,000 samples per second. This combination of affordability, ease of installation, and high-quality performance makes the IOLITE X series a smart choice for a wide range of industrial applications.

On-board SD card storage

IOLITE X devices are equipped with an ARM processor running Linux OS. They are powered by our newly embedded DewesoftRT software, which can enable real-time operation and logging of the data on the device directly.

That is why IOLITE X devices come with an SD card slot that allows for onboard data storage, supporting SD cards up to 2TB. This feature enables the devices to store raw data directly on the device for future analysis, effectively turning the IOLITE X into a standalone data logger that operates independently of any external PC connection.

Later this year, an update to the embedded DewesoftRT software and firmware will further enhance this functionality. This update will introduce new capabilities such as an online math module, triggering, storing, and real-time outputs, expanding the functionality and versatility of the IOLITE X devices.
