It explains what kind of personal data is collected and how it is used by Dewesoft when you interact with us - meaning use our website, purchase and use our products, contact our customer support, visit or participate in our seminars and webinars, subscribe to our newsletters, or any other interaction with Dewesoft. 

We use your personal data to provide and improve our services. By using the services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your integrity and your trust are important to us, so we process your personal data obtained on the website in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and other regulations in this area. This policy is effective from May 1st, 2021.

By consenting to this Privacy Policy, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure practices, and other activities described in this Privacy Policy. The terms in the field of personal data protection in this notice e.g. personal data processing, controller, processor, etc. are used as defined in Article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation. 

DEWESoft d.o.o., located at Gabrsko 11a, Trbovlje, Slovenia, is the controller for the processing of personal information that falls within the scope of this Privacy Policy. In case of questions concerning our use of your personal data or your rights in relation to your personal data, we are available for you by e-mail at dewesoft@dewesoft.com.

Personal data

We collect information that you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you create an account to access our online services like Forum, Developers Portal, Online PRO Training, or Download Centre, participate in events like the Measurement Conference, fill out a contact form, subscribe to a newsletter, apply for a job, request customer support, use our website and communicate with us, or interact with the webchat. 

We collect and process personal data only when necessary and with a legal basis for processing. In doing so, we follow the principle of the minimum amount of data, which means that we process only those and as much personal data as is strictly necessary to achieve the lawful purpose of processing. We process personal data for which you have given consent e.g. when subscribing to e-news or asking us a question, signing up for online training or when processing is necessary due to legitimate interests pursued by the operator or to fulfill contractual obligations.

The types of information we may collect include:

  1. identifiers, such as your full name, phone number, email address, postal mail address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, internet protocol address,

  2. commercial information, such as products or services purchased, obtained

  3. professional or employment-related information such as company name, and business contact information (e.g., business phone number, address, or email); and

  4. any other information you choose to provide. 

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about your interaction with the Site such as the individual web pages or products that you view, and what websites or search terms referred you to the Site. 

Purpose of personal data processing

We process your personal data on the website for one or more of the purposes listed in the following points:

Newsletter subscription

When you subscribe to the "Dewesoft newsletter" we will use your email address to inform you about news, product releases, and events, which may be of interest to you. We process your data exclusively to inform you about innovations in the field of technology development and new products and events that we organize.

For the use of your electronic address, we use the system of prior approval of use - so-called opt-in, which means that we will send you emails only if you explicitly agree to receive such electronic notifications. The only exception is when you send us a request to prepare an offer - then you will be added to the list of email recipients based on legitimate interest.

Your data is processed until you unsubscribe from receiving the news. If you no longer want to receive news from us, you can use the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of every marketing email. 

Contact forms: contact us, get a quote, and evaluation license

Our contact forms are intended for you to ask questions to our sales or support team, send a request for a specific product, or receive an evaluation license of the DewesoftX software. 

Your consent to the processing of your data is necessary to prepare an answer to a question of interest, prepare an offer for the requested product or service, granting the trial version of the software. 

If you contact us via a form on our Website, we will respond to your inquiry using your personal data. On these forms, we collect the following information: name, company, country, e-mail address, and telephone number of the individual. 

In the contact form, you also select the type of support and write down the specific question of interest, and select and mark the area from which the question is asked. For product requests and evaluation licenses, you indicate the application area of the product in question. 

Your information might be shared with our subsidiary companies, distributors, and partners for sales and support purposes. It will be used to respond to you and will not be sold, traded, or given to any third party outside of our company.

The data collected by us in the prepared forms are intended to obtain the necessary data for the provision of a specific service.

When you fill in this form we also add you to the list of those receiving news from us - see Newsletter subscription. In each sent message, you have the option to unsubscribe from this service.

Apply for a job via the “apply now” form

If you wish to apply for one of our advertised jobs, you can use the form “Apply Now”. The form only requires the personal data that we need for this purpose, and your consent is needed for processing the application data.

The personal data required for this purpose are name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number(s), address, and postal code. Also, you have to choose a field of work, mark the job for which you are applying and attach your CV. Optionally, you can also write a cover letter. 

Register Dewesoft account

You need to provide us with your personal data if you choose to register and open an account with us. The following data is required for the registration: name, surname, company, country, email address, and telephone number. You also set your password to access this account. 

Upon creating your account, we will send you your personal login information. We also use your personal data to admin and secure your account – for instance, we can on your request use it to change your password. 

We process these data based on our legitimate interest in managing our customer relationships effectively, and in protecting the confidentiality and integrity of your data.

When you are the holder of a Dewesoft Account you can manage all your subscriptions and notifications via the Manage Notifications menu. You also have access to the areas of Download, Training, and Forum. 

If you no longer wish to keep your account, you may forward a request, and we will delete your data. Please use the email address: web@dewesoft.com. You will receive a notification by email when the deletion process is complete. We will stop processing the data based on revoked consent no later than 15 days after receiving it. 

For how long we will retain your personal data

We only retain your data for as long as is needed for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, for example, to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, or to enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We also retain your Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or improve the functionality of our service, or if we are legally obligated to retain such data for longer periods.

Sharing of personal data with third parties

Your information will be used to respond to you and will not be sold, traded, or given to any third party outside of our company.

We may share your personal data with third parties - sub-processors - related to us in connection with our provision of services such as our business partners, email providers, web hosting providers, and providers of various information and communication technology services.

These third parties have only limited access to information about you, may use such information only to perform these tasks on our behalf, and are obligated to us not to disclose or use information about you for other purposes. 

We will not share your data except with your consent or at your direction, and only in the following circumstances or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy: 

  • If vendors, consultants, and other service providers need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf for sales and support purposes; In response to a request for information if we are sure that disclosure is following or required any applicable law, regulation, or legal process,

  • If we believe your actions are inconsistent with the spirit or language of our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Dewesoft or others, or

  • If it is within Dewesoft or between and among our current and future partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

ActiveCampaign, LLC 

ActiveCampaign is a platform that we use to automate our email marketing. It allows us to plan and structure this activity, and to understand how you as a recipient interact with the email content. Using ActiveCampaigns we collect information from contact forms and see information about website activities. We use ActiveCampaign to send out newsletters, product updates, events, and webinar invitations and customize marketing based on your interests as stated above in points 3.1 and 3.2. Intrix CRM

Protection of personal data

We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal data, and to protect your data against unauthorized or unlawful use or processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage, including:

  • Training of our employees on the importance of confidentiality and maintaining privacy and security of personal data,

  • Restricting access to personal data only to employees who need the data in the course of their work,

  • Continuous and comprehensive updating and testing of our security technology,

  • Careful and responsible selection of our sub-processors;

  • Use of secure servers to store personal data, and

  • the appointment of an authorized person responsible for the protection of personal data.

We use the industry-standard security protocol Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encode sensitive information, such as credit card numbers for online purchase transactions via the Website. 

Although we take reasonable security measures to protect your data when we receive it, you also need to ensure you take appropriate steps to protect your data. Be aware that the transmission of information - including personal data - over the Internet is not always completely secure. When you provide us with any information over the Internet, either by email, through our website, or in any other way, you do so entirely on your own responsibility.

Individual rights

You may exercise the following rights in relation to personal data by sending an email to dewesoft@dewesoft.com or in writing to us:

  • Request access to your data, and information related to the use and processing of these data;

  • Request the correction or deletion of your data;

  • Require a restriction on the use of your data;

  • Exercise the right to transfer your data;

  • Object to the processing of your data for certain purposes, and

  • Require the withdrawal of consent to the processing of your data. If you withdraw your consent, this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data before the day on which you withdrew the consent.

For additional information on personal data rights, including certain restrictions that apply to some of these rights, Articles 12 to 23 of the General Data Protection Regulation apply directly.

For reliable identification in the event of you exercising any of the above rights, we may request additional information from you, if needed to confirm your identity. Otherwise, we will respond to your request without undue delay and at the latest within one month of receiving your request. Exceptionally, we may extend this period - in such cases, we will inform you of the extension.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Slovenian Government's Office of the Information Commissioner if you consider that our processing of your personal data violates any regulations in the field of personal data protection.

Changes to this privacy policy 

This Privacy Policy shall enter into force on the day of its publication on our website. We reserve the right to amend or supplement this notice.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. You will be notified by a change of date of the policy or through additional notice such as a statement on our website or a direct email.
