What kind of sensors can I connect to SIRIUS data acquisition systems?

SIRIUS data acquisition system offers a full range of signal amplifiers available that can condition almost any signal. You can connect voltage, high-voltage, IEPE, charge, strain gauge based sensors (quarter-bridge, half-bridge, and full-bridge), load cells, thermocouple, RTD, LVDT, current. What is DualCoreADC® technology?

The <a href="https://youtu.be/mzNyTn3W42s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DualCoreADC® technology</a> solves often faced problems with signal measurement - input overload, noise, and artificial frequencies in the signal caused by aliasing. The input signal can be higher than expected (out-of-range) and therefore clipped by the A/D converter. With SIRIUS data acquisition systems, each input channel amplifier has two ADC's that always measure the high and low gain of the input signal. This results in the full possible measuring range of the sensor and prevents the signal from being clipped. With DualCoreADC® technology SIRIUS DAQ hardware achieves more than 130 dB signal-to-noise ratio and more than 160 dB in dynamic range. This is 20 times better than standard 24-bit data acquisition systems and 20 times less noise.

What sampling rates does SIRIUS DAQ systems offer?

SIRIUS data acquisition devices offer four different types of signal conditioners (or amplifiers) that offer different sampling rates: <ul> <li>SIRIUS DualCoreADC® amplifiers: 8 analog input channels per SIRIUS slice with a 200 kHz sampling rate per channel. Uses dual 24-bit Sigma-delta ADCs per input channel.</li> <li>SIRIUS HD (High Density) amplifiers: 16 analog input channels per SIRIUS slice with a 200 kHz sampling rate per channel. Uses a single 24-bit Sigma-delta ADC per input channel.</li> <li>SIRIUS HS (High Speed) amplifiers: 8 analog input channels per SIRIUS slice with a 1 MHz sampling rate per channel. Uses single 16-but SAR ADC per input channel. </li> <li>SIRIUS XHS (Extra High Speed) amplifiers: 8 analog input channels per SIRIUS slice with up to 15 MS/s sampling rate per channel. Uses our latest HybridADC® signal conditioning technology.</li> </ul> The sampling rate is software selectable globally for all input channels or separately for every individual input channel.

Are SIRIUS data acquisition system galvanically isolated?

Yes. SIRIUS DAQ devices feature a high galvanic channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground isolation (CAT II ±1000 V and CAT III ±600 V). SIRIUS amplifiers also offer isolated sensor excitation. EtherCAT® expansion port

SBOX is also equipped with an EtherCAT® slave port which can be used to expand and distribute additional analog channels by connecting any of our EtherCAT®-based data acquisition modules such as KRYPTON or SIRIUSe.

EtherCAT® port includes a built-in hardware synchronization hub for synchronization of all the connected EtherCAT® devices with the internal analog channels. Only one cable is needed to daisy chain the units. The single cable is used for data, synchronization, and power to all extended EtherCAT® devices.

Battery powered with built-in Li-ion batteries

SIRIUS® R8DB systems have built-in Li-Ion batteries that enable full autonomy without any external power supply. This makes systems to be truly portable data acquisition systems.
