Students at the IUT of Le Creusot investigated how microphone orientation affects acoustic measurements. Using a motorized rotation system, encoder, and Dewesoft data acquisition, they measured an MG370 microphone’s response at different angles and frequencies. The synchronized measurements and polar plots revealed how microphone sensitivity varies with the direction of incoming sound.

This study evaluates ride comfort in a Mini Cooper R56 through synchronized cabin noise and whole-body vibration measurements. Following ISO 5128 and ISO 2631-1, Dewesoft hardware and software were used to assess acoustic levels, vibration exposure, motion sickness, and vehicle dynamics under stationary and real-world driving conditions.

Application Notes

This study analyzes how motion strategy and operating speed affect the energy consumption of a KUKA SCARA robot. High-speed measurements of motor current, voltage, power, and energy show that speed has a greater impact on consumption than motion duration, while Motors 1 and 2 account for most of the robot’s total energy use.

Case Studies

HydroTeam developed a non-invasive method to estimate hydrogen fuel consumption in a Ford 3.5L V6 engine using existing ECU data. With Dewesoft DS-CAN2 and DewesoftX, the team combined engine parameters, lambda values, and the ideal gas law to calculate hydrogen mass flow in real time without a dedicated fuel flow meter.
