Al Hoge

    Applications Engineer

Al Hoge has nearly 30 years of experience working in the areas of automation, calibration, instrumentation, and metrology. He began his technical career as an Instrumentation Technician at NASA Glenn in Cleveland, Ohio where he received a recognition reward from the Director of NASA for instrumenting solar panels for the International Space Station.

He next worked for Parker Hannifin’s Gas Turbine Fuel System Division, where he performed shock and vibration, contamination, environmental, low and high cycle fatigue testing, and assisted with the design, automation, and upgrade of test cells and stands.

After ten years at Parker Hannifin, he moved to Lubrizol where he further developed his skills in metrology, test cells, and troubleshooting. Al later returned to Parker Hannifin, this time to their Aircraft Wheel and Brake Division, working in the HIL/SIL, calibration, and test labs. His focus was on the automation and control of test stands for hydraulic tests, landing gear simulations, and more.

Al has mastered various DAQ systems (DEWESoft, IOtech, PLCs); along with programming languages (C++, C#, VB, VB.NET, LabVIEW, DASYLab), calibration standards including ISO 9001, 10012, and 17025, and industrial communications. Al joined Dewesoft in 2021 as an automation application engineer. He utilizes his vast automation experience and expertise working directly with Dewesoft customers as a technical resource to help with automation and control projects in nearly every industry.
