Highly Reliable SSD Storage

SBOX provides highly reliable data recording with typical 180 MB per second write speed straight into a built-in fast SSD drive. SSD drive is removable so you can swap and replace it quickly.

High-Performance CPU

Integrated GNSS with RTK

All portable DAQ systems can be equipped with an optional 10Hz or 100Hz GNSS receiver, allowing for precise GPS positioning in navigational testing applications. These GNSS receivers also offer optional RTK support, which can enhance positioning accuracy to 1 cm.

Fast and reliable data logging

SBOX devices are highly reliable and rugged data processing computers and SSD-based data loggers. They can be used with our signal conditioning modules such as SIRIUS, IOLITE, or KRYPTON. SBOX together with a signal conditioning device will form a completely autonomous and standalone data acquisition system. 

SBOX computers have integrated highly reliable SSD storage. With a typical 180 MB/s write rate, there is enough capacity to store hundreds of channels at high speed including high-speed video. The main SSD storage is also removable, so you can easily remove the SSD and read the data externally.

For safe and stable operation SBOX computers have an additional internal flash drive for the operating system. This separates the OS from measurement data storage and makes it run more stable in general.

Powerful signal processing capabilities

Fast 11th-generation and 8-thread Intel Core i5 processor with 8 GB memory (optionally up to 40 GB) provides more than enough processing power for the most complex mathematical computations. SBOX will allow fluent workflows and real-time data processing even if your measurement setup is configured with thousands of channels.

Highly optimized DewesoftX software will take maximum advantage of the latest CPU technologies built into SBOX and allow visually rich and fluent graphics, smooth workflows, and real-time math changes on your live sampled data.

Great connection interfaces

SBOX computers are equipped will all the standard interfaces for easy connectivity to the network, peripheral devices, displays, and of course the data acquisition modules. SBOX computers are equipped with the following interfaces:

  • DVI video input: fully compatible with VGA and HDMI.

  • USB 2.0 and USB 3.0: for data acquisition devices like SIRIUS, DEWE-43A, and peripherals like mouse, keyboard, and external hard drives.

  • EtherCAT master port: for connecting any of our EtherCAT data acquisition devices like KRYPTON or SIRIUS.

  • Dual Gigabit LAN and WLAN interfaces: for wired and wireless connectivity.

  • GPS receiver: optional built-in 10 Hz or 100 Hz GPS receiver with an option to connect external GPS display.

Connect USB or EtherCAT-based signal conditioning modules

SBOX computers include six USB ports as well as an EtherCAT master port for connecting any of our USB and EtherCAT-based signal conditioning modules such as the SIRIUS modular, KRYPTON, or IOLITE.

If six available USB ports on SBOX computers are not enough, we provide an additional high-speed USB hub (DS-HUB7). The DS-HUB7 will add an additional seven USB ports. The SBOX and DS-HUB7 chassis can be clipped together using our smart click mechanism.

Fanless and waterproof SBOX versions for testing in extreme environments

Next to standard SBOXe, we offer two SBOX versions that are designed for data recording in more harsh environments:

  • SBOXfe is a fanless version of the standard SBOX data logger built for testing in industrial, dust-heavy environments. Its fanless chassis enclosure is completely sealed, preventing any dust from flowing through and ensuring stable operation. Fanless SBOX is rated with IP50 environmental IP protection

  • SBOXwe is an even more rugged version that can be used for data recording in even more extreme and wet environments. SBOXwe offers IP67 environmental protection and is completely waterproof. You can find more details on the SBOX Waterproof website.

Integrated GNSS positioning with RTK correction

SBOX computers can optionally be equipped with a 10 Hz or 100 Hz GNSS receiver for precise position measurement applications. GNSS receivers can optionally also be configured to support RTK correction (Real-Time Kinematics).

GNSS receiver option will transform your data acquisition system and makes it ideal for precise position-based test and measurement applications. The RTK correction option will improve the positioning accuracy down to 1 cm.

SBOX with GNSS receiver will transform the data acquisition system into a powerful automotive data logger for advanced position-based test and measurement applications such as:
