Application Engineer for monitoring systems for DEWESoft Monitoring subsidiary

We are looking for an application engineer to work on projects in offshore wind power and infrastructure industries. We are developing IoT devices and software for 24/7 measurement systems for monitoring bridges, wind turbines, skyscrapers, and similar structures and machines. Our solutions include everything from sensors to databases and visualization.

As our systems measure the mechanical response of structures and thus help to evaluate their safety, they must work continuously and reliably so that they can provide important information to the end user and the wider public. This is why we are looking for a technical person with attention to those details that most people don’t care about but which mean a lot to us and our customers.

As an application engineer, you will have the following tasks and challenges:

• Design of use cases and configuration of our software packages (Dewesoft X, Dewesoft Historian) for monitoring projects; examples include:

-setup of measurement devices (sample rate, measurement range, excitation, etc.)

-setup of mathematical calculations on acquired data based on customer needs

-configuring storing strategy (retention policies, data file duration etc.)

-configuring data formats (.dxd, .csv, influxDB, etc.)

-setup and deployment of measurement systems on customer’s computers and servers (using remote access)

-design of test procedures and detailed testing of measurement systems before acceptance and deployment.

• Ensuring the continuous operation of the measurement systems, which include:

-identification of potential issues,

-detailed debugging by analyzing log files,

-Punctual reporting of errors to the development team (in the Jira system).

Education requirements:

• computer engineering/IT or electronics or mechanical or mechatronics

• the tasks are predominantly IT-oriented, but they could be handled by an electronics or mechanical engineer

Skills:

• Python (scripting level)

• windows cmd

• Linux ssh

• databases (preferably time-series like influxDB)

• GitHub

• Jira

Experience requirement: 3 years of full-time employment

Location: Trbovlje 3x a week, 2x a week remote work
