Dewesoft Partners with the 2025 Alpine Endurance Racing Team

Dewesoft is proud to be an official partner of the Alpine Endurance Team. The team uses Dewesoft instruments across Europe to support its advanced testing regimen. Alpine conducted temperature measurements and analysis on critical vehicle components like tires, brake disks, calipers, and even the driver’s cockpit with Dewesoft instruments. This application note outlines more details about this initiative.

Today, the Alpine Endurance Racing Team is poised to significantly impact the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). It builds upon the experiences and lessons of its inaugural Hypercar season in 2024. They finished in third place at the 6 Hours of Fuji and had several top-five finishes, leading to fourth place in the Hypercar Manufacturers' World Championship. This performance established Alpine as a formidable contender among the new entrants in the premier class.

With a reinforced driver lineup, strategic leadership, and the continued development of the Alpine A424 Hypercar, the team is focused on ascending the ranks in the highly competitive Hypercar class. Dewesoft will continue to support them with the most advanced data acquisition instruments available today.

A global campaign with home turf dreams

Alpine fielded two cars in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, and they will do the same in 2025. They will participate in an eight-race campaign across four continents, competing against seven other Hypercar manufacturers. Even casual race fans have heard of the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans. Alpine hopes to capitalize on home-turf advantage to secure a strong result. The team's schedule features essential tracks like Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, and Fuji Speedway. Each track offers unique challenges and chances for the A424 and its drivers.

The 2025 cars include #35, driven by Ferdinand Habsburg, Paul-Loup Chatin, and Charles Milesi.

Jules Gounon, promoted after a successful reserve role, Mick Schumacher, and Frédéric Makowiecki will share sister car #36. Matthieu Vaxiviere (not shown) will serve as a reserve driver.

The leadership team is strong. Bruno Famin is the Vice President of Alpine Motorsports, Philippe Sinault is the Team Principal, and Nicolas Lapierre is the Sporting Director. This skilled trio has extensive knowledge and a record of success. They have won several LMP2 races, including Le Mans victories and world titles with Alpine.

The Alpine crew works like a well-oiled machine to support their cars and drivers. Note the Dewesoft logo on the vehicle.

Alpine’s history began in 1955 when Jean Rédélé formed the automotive brand. Today, Alpine is a leading competitor in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, and other events. The company also makes passenger cars and was acquired by Renault in the 1970s.

Technical developments and the A424 hypercar

The Alpine A424 Hypercar, developed in collaboration with Oreca, is central to the team's 2025 campaign. The car has a 3.4-liter V6 engine and a standard hybrid system. This shows Alpine's dedication to combining performance with new technology. Design elements inspired by Alpine's road cars, overseen by designers Antony Villain and Raphaël Linari, contribute to the A424's distinctive aesthetic. The team did a lot of testing in 2024. This gave them essential data. They used this data to improve the car's performance and reliability for the next season.

Beyond 2025: Alpine's motorsport vision

Alpine's commitment to motorsport extends beyond endurance racing. The brand actively engages in Formula 1, rallying, GT racing, and esports. This shows a comprehensive strategy to enhance its global presence and technological prowess.

The transformation of the Viry-Châtillon facility into the Alpine Hypertech Center underscores this vision, focusing on innovation and the development of future technologies. This strategic shift aligns with Alpine's broader goals of maintaining competitiveness and fostering innovation across all motorsport disciplines. In addition to endurance races, Alpine’s competition portfolio includes F1 (Formula One), rallying, GT, esport, and several other motorsports.
