Application & Support Engineer (m/f)

Dewesoft Monitoring are developing IoT devices and software for 24/7 measurement systems for monitoring bridges, wind turbines, skyscrapers and other similar structures and machines. Their solutions include everything from sensors to database and visualization.

As their systems measure the mechanical response of the structures and thus help to evaluate the safety of those structures, it is extremely important that they work continuously and reliably, so that they can provide important information to the end user and wider public. This is they we are looking for a technical person with attention to those details which mean a lot to us and our customers.

Job description:

  - on-site support includes overseeing and assisting with checks of electrical and communication installations, and helping customers with the installation setup (this does not include performing the installation itself, but primarily review and advice)

  - design of use cases and configuration of our software packages (Dewesoft X, Dewesoft Historian) for monitoring projects, examples include:

  - setup of measurement devices (sample rate, measurement range, excitation etc.)

  - setup of mathematical calculations on acquired data based on customer needs

  - configuring storing strategy (retention policies, data file duration etc.)

  - configuring data formats (.dxd, .csv, influxDB etc.)

  - setup and deployment of measurement systems on customer's computers and servers (on-site and using remote access)

  - design of test procedures and detailed testing of measurement systems before acceptance and deployment

  - ensuring the continuous operation of the measurement systems, which includes:

  - identification of potential issues

  - detailed debugging by analyzing log files

  - punctual reporting of errors to the development team (in Jira system)

The selected candidate will receive appropriate training and education to carry out the tasks described above.

Required education and key skills:

  - computer engineering/IT or electronics or mechanical or mechatronics

  - the tasks are predominantly IT oriented, but they could be handled by an electronics or mechanical engineer

  - fluent Italian (spoken and written) - required

  - English language skills

  - python (scripting level)

  - windows cmd

  - linux ssh

  - databases (preferably time-series like influxDB)

  - github

  - jira

Willingness to travel to Italy regularly (approx. 2 weeks per month).

Experience requirement: 3 years of full time employment

Location: possible office in the Kras region, other,wise remote work, or office in Trbovlje; 2 weeks per month on-site work in Italy.
