openDAQ is looking for a CEO for the next stage of growth of an international technology company operating at the intersection of software, measurement hardware, and open-source development.

We are not looking for someone interested only in managing an organization. We are looking for someone who is interested in technology and understands the value of an open-source product. We are looking for a person who, together with the team, will develop openDAQ into an internationally recognized story.

What is openDAQ?

openDAQ is an open-source SDK for the test & measurement industry. It enables measurement devices and software applications from different manufacturers to communicate through a unified interface — something that has traditionally required long and expensive integrations.

openDAQ was founded by Slovenian Dewesoft and German HBK, two leading companies in the world of measurement technology. The product has a mature technological foundation, market validation, and early recognition for innovation. Today, a broader industrial ecosystem is forming around openDAQ.

Because we are solving a problem the industry has known for a very long time, it is not unusual for the first question from an engineer or user hearing about the openDAQ SDK to be: “Where have you been for the last 30 years?”

Now we are here. The first successes need to be confirmed by increasing openDAQ’s presence in the industry: with more users, partners, integrations, community members, and market opportunities.

Who are we looking for?

This is a role for someone familiar with terms such as open source, programming languages, APIs, plugins, protocols, and interoperability. They do not need to be an experienced developer, but they do need to understand the technological background well enough to speak credibly with engineers, partners, measurement equipment manufacturers, and software companies.

They will need to dive into the question of how to develop and establish, in the test & measurement industry, a solution that hides the technical complexity of different devices, applications, and protocols while enabling communication through a unified interface.

It is also important to understand that the open-source philosophy of our company requires building trust, community, partnerships, a transparent roadmap, and a business model that supports the long-term sustainability of an open-source product. We are looking for someone who can connect this approach with business development: opening sales and partnership conversations, identifying market opportunities, and turning those conversations into concrete next steps.
