Reducing Emissions with Solar and Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES)
Dewesoft Inspiretech developed a Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) system at its Trbovlje facility to store excess solar heat in underground boreholes for winter use. Powered entirely by 400 m² of solar panels and two 100 kW heat pumps, the system reduces emissions, operational costs, and grid dependence. Integrated with DewesoftX, Grafana, and FUXA, it achieves 40–50 % efficiency and a 5–7 year payback, demonstrating a scalable, data-driven renewable solution.
