This case study presents the measurement-based validation of battery electrical and motor thermal models developed for the ET-17 electric prototype by E-Team Squadra Corse at the University of Pisa. Using high-bandwidth, synchronized measurements acquired with Dewesoft data acquisition systems during endurance-style testing, the team validated reduced-order models suitable for real-time predictive power and thermal management.

Performance Testing of Nuclear Waste Storage Container Filters

Forum

As the UK advances plans for a new Geological Disposal Facility to manage legacy nuclear waste, ensuring the safe venting of hydrogen from Intermediate Level Waste containers has become a critical engineering challenge. Sellafield Limited commissioned RED Engineering to assess the venting performance of Intermediate-Level Waste container filters under nominal and worst-case configurations. Through a two-phase testing program, the team combined advanced Dewesoft data acquisition, automation, and Python-based processing to deliver robust, repeatable insights that inform container loading strategies and reduce the risk of gas build-up.

Teaching Practical Materials Science and Structural Dimensioning with Dewesoft

Forum

The BUT GMP program at the University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Le Creusot trains students to become technicians who are ready for work in industry. They learn to manage the full life cycle of mechanical products, from design to production. The program builds skills in mechanical design, manufacturing methods, and production processes, with a focus on quality, safety, and maintenance. Hands-on exercises with Dewesoft equipment help students connect classroom theory with real structural testing and material research.

Electro Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) Measurements on Electrolysis Stacks

Forum

Green hydrogen derives from splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable electricity. Electrolysis technology is essential for producing green hydrogen and storing energy in Power-to-X systems. The Austrian hydrogen research center HyCentA uses Dewesoft devices and software to apply impedance spectroscopy. The center uses this technique to investigate the electrochemical properties of its electrolysis stacks and components.

Testing Combustion Performance on Rocket Propulsion System

Forum

Testing rocket propulsion systems requires precise measurement under extreme conditions, where heat, vibration, and rapid combustion events challenge conventional data acquisition methods. Faraday Rocketry UPV improved the reliability and accuracy of its static fire testing by implementing an integrated data acquisition system. Using Dewesoft hardware and software, the team captured high-quality thrust and temperature data, significantly reduced ignition time, and enhanced the overall performance analysis of its student-developed rocket motor.

Advantages of Silicon-on-Insulator Transducers Over Other Pressure Sensing Technologies.

Forum

Factors to be considered when selecting the most appropriate pressure sensing technology for an application include up-front cost, static/total error band, interface requirements, installation costs, and the total lifecycle costs of the solution. We will examine four steady-state pressure measurement technologies for a general-purpose pressure measurement including metal-foil strain gage, thin film, silicon MEMS, and capacitive pressure transducers. Performance factors relevant to pressure measurement such as response time, sensitivity to temperature, and the effects of vibration will be reviewed in this presentation.
